What Veloda takes

Smart

Take large downloads and the file types a download manager is for — archives, installers, disk images, video and audio. Everything else stays in the browser, where a small file finishes faster than the hand-off takes.

Everything

Take every download, regardless of size or type. This is how IDM behaves. Expect to add exceptions below.

Only when I ask

Never take a download on its own. Right-click → Download with Veloda and the media list in the popup still work.

Size threshold

In Smart mode, a download at or above this size is taken whatever its type.

Media detection

Detect video and audio streams

Watches for HLS and DASH manifests as a page plays them and lists them in the popup. This is what makes an adaptive stream — the kind with no download link at all — reachable.

Sites Veloda never touches

One hostname per line. Subdomains are covered (example.com also skips files.example.com). Webmail and cloud drives are here by default because taking those downloads breaks the page's own handling of them.
